The actual face I made when I found out we weren’t going to make Spaghetti night!
One of our officers decided it would be a great idea to order his Gun truck to “drive” through a mud wall to block fleeing Taliban fighters.
Needless to say, they got away and we were left with a ripped off front end and sad faces.
Spaghetti was the best thing happening in the Helmand Valley at our camp.
We ended up waiting 3 days for the Brits to come tow this destroyed truck back.
Moral of this story, you’ve seen enough stupid things happen in the military and there’s no reason to repeat them when you get out.
